Laverne G. Dibble,  was was born on April 23, 1935 and died on January 24, 2002 at the age of 66. Laverne last resided in Rockford, Illinois 61106 in Winnebago County.

Laverne was a Master Checker Player who won many tournaments.  He also played mail checkers which he won many tournaments.  1990 - 37^th  3-Move Nationals, Laverne Dibble tied Russian Alexander Kandaurov for 1st place in the Majors Division.  Laverne was the Illinois State Champion in 79, 83, 86, 87, 90-93, 98, 99.
